Free and in-person only
The next session of Echoes in the Room invites you into a deep listen you won’t find anywhere else. Close Enough for Jazz explores rare and unreleased recordings that span decades of Memphis music history—featuring college-era Mulgrew Miller, Jim Dickinson in a jazz trio format, a 1979 studio session with James Williams, Billy Pierce, and Bill Mobley, a George Cartwright free jazz duo from 1975, and even Memphis’ answer to Bitches Brew (1972).
Also included: The Beale Street Festival Big Band from 1982, and more surprises from the archives.
✨ This session is not recorded or streamed, so the only way to hear it… is to be in the room.
