Kortland brings deep, heartfelt lyrics and a powerful, gospel-inflected delivery, channeling raw emotion and groove. Think rich, velvety tones or gritty belts, evoking artists like Lou Rawls or Nat King Cole. Adam Larson, saxophonist, meanwhile, adds sophisticated, improvisational flair—think John Coltrane’s expressive phrasing or Kamasi Washington’s modern, soulful edge. Their interplay is dynamic: the singer’s rhythmic, soulful melodies grounding the performance, while the saxophonist weaves in spontaneous, melodic runs, adding texture and unpredictability.
