Elizabeth King, the Sacred Soul Queen of Memphis, will release her new album Soul Provider with this special record release concert at The Green Room at Crosstown Arts. A special performance by the Jubilee Hummingbirds will open up the evening.
Elizabeth King returns with her third long-playing collection for the Memphis gospel outfit Bible & Tire Recording Co. Soul Provider finds Elizabeth in her element while exploring new ground and compositions composed and arranged in house. Weaving in and out of secular moods but keeping it all sacred, King always finds a way, using her voice as a vessel to convey the message.
Reminiscent of true gospel beginnings, King’s voice is raw and real. Determined to conjure those voices of prayer out of the darkness. To feast upon the body and blood of the divine and to transport the listener to that moment we finally meet our Soul Provider.
