Reba Russell is a name synonymous with the Memphis Music scene. Beginning in the early 1980s (with bands Visions, Portrait, and Reba and the Portables) and now currently fronting the Reba Russell Band, Reba has covered most bases in the music industry including touring throughout the United States and Europe and releasing 8 albums independently.
Reba has lent her talents on stage and/or on recordings to U2 (When Love Comes To Town), Class of 55 Homecoming (featuring Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins), Huey Lewis and the News (Soulsville album), Tracy Nelson, Jim Dickinson, Sid Selvidge, Lucero, and Jimmy Thackery, and host of other artists.
In 2011, Reba was nominated for the Koko Taylor Vocal Award by the Blues Foundation, and more recently in November 2018 her band was honored with a Beale Street Brass Note. In 2023 Reba, along with 30 others was honored with a Brass Star on Memphis’ Orpheum Halloran Center’s sidewalk of Stars.
