Crosstown Concourse has always been a place where Memphis comes to explore art, culture, community, and of course, food. And now, our newest restaurants are getting some well-deserved recognition.
In a recent Commercial Appeal dining feature, Memphis food reporter Jacob Wilt named two Crosstown Concourse restaurants among his “Best New Restaurant of 2025” picks. It’s an exciting spotlight on the kind of culinary creativity happening inside the Concourse every day.
One of the Concourse restaurants recognized is Bao Toan Kitchen & Bar, a modern Vietnamese restaurant rooted in family tradition and bold creativity. Bao Toan started as a mother-daughter project built around Vietnamese flavors, hospitality, and legacy right here in Memphis.
From cocktails to comforting dishes, Bao Toan has quickly become one of those places people recommend instantly when friends ask, “Where should we eat?”

What did reporter Jacob Wilt have to say? “Bao Toan’s atmosphere and vibe, like Crosstown Concourse where it is located, is impeccable…try the Chả giò (fried egg rolls) with pork and wood ear mushrooms — my absolute favorite egg rolls I’ve ever had.”
Briza just opened last Fall and has become one of the Concourse’s most exciting dining destinations, offering a fresh take on coastal-inspired food in the heart of Memphis. With a menu that blends seafood, sushi, and steak in a polished, welcoming space, Briza brings the feeling of an elevated night out while still being approachable enough for a casual dinner or celebration.

According to Wilt, “Briza’s expertly prepared seafood, sushi and steaks taste all the better knowing who cooked it — former Houston’s executive chef Moisés Hernandez.”
Led by husband-and-wife team Moisés and Maggie Murphy-Hernandez, the restaurant pairs thoughtful hospitality with bold flavors and beautiful presentation making it the kind of place you can return to again and again and always find something new to love. Whether you’re planning a date night, meeting friends for drinks, or treating yourself to a standout meal, Briza is the kind of restaurant that makes the Concourse feel like a true dining destination.
Crosstown Concourse is proud to be a place where ambitious new concepts can thrive right alongside longtime favorites and where visitors can try something completely new on any given day. Whether you’re a longtime Crosstown Concourse regular or planning your first visit, this is the perfect moment to explore the food scene inside our walls.
Come curious. Come hungry. And congratulations to both restaurants on this great recognition!
