Briza at Crosstown: Where Memphis Meets the Coast

Something new is cooking inside Crosstown Concourse — and it’s more than just another restaurant. Briza, a concept led by husband-and-wife team Moisés and Maggie Murphy-Hernandez, is set to open this fall. Their vision blends bold flavors, global inspiration, and Memphis hospitality in a space designed for connection.

From Houston’s to Crosstown

For nearly two decades, Moisés Hernandez sharpened his craft at Houston’s Restaurant, a place many Memphians still remember fondly. Now, alongside Maggie, he’s building something entirely new for the city’s food scene: a bold, fresh restaurant that honors his roots while introducing Memphis to a whole new flavor profile.

At Briza, Moisés steps into the role of Executive Chef and General Manager, while Maggie Murphy-Hernandez brings more than a decade of fine-dining hospitality experience to her role as Hospitality Manager. Together, they aren’t just opening a restaurant — they’re creating a destination where food and people come together.

A Taste of What’s Coming

Guests can expect a menu that doesn’t hold back — from inventive sushi rolls and wood-fired seafood to prime steaks and coastal-inspired salads. Think tuna tartare with citrus and mango, seared scallop salad with champagne vinaigrette, crispy grouper sandwiches, and broiled rosemary ribeye. Every plate is designed to feel like an escape — fresh, modern, and full of flavor.

Expanding Crosstown’s Flavor

Crosstown Concourse thrives on discovery. It’s a place where art, music, food, and culture meet under one roof. Briza adds a new layer to that story — an elevated dining experience that still feels approachable and connected to Memphis.

“We’re creating a space where people can connect over beautiful, flavorful food in an atmosphere that feels bright, relaxed, and elegant,” said Moises Hernandez, General Manager and Executive Chef.

What’s Next?

Construction is underway now, and the restaurant is expected to open in early November. In the meantime, the Crosstown community can look forward to a new gathering place built on care, creativity, and a shared love of food.
