Puppy Palooza 2023

Crosstown Concourse 1350 Concourse Ave, Memphis, TN

Puppy Palooza brings as many puppy-themed activities as paws-sible to the South Plaza at Crosstown Concourse. Before the dog days of summer begin, it’s a chance to celebrate our furry friends. We’re fur real — it’s going to be paw-some!

Dogs (and their human companions) are invited to Puppy Palooza at the South Plaza. The event is free and open to the public. Come celebrate our canine companions with the community at Crosstown Concourse!

Kafé Kirk with Kirk Whalum & Jazzmeia Horn (SOLD OUT)

Join Grammy-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum for Kafé Kirk, an ongoing jazz series in Crosstown Theater featuring musical and spiritual collaborations with special guest artists. This iteration’s performance will feature jazz singer Jazzmeia Horn.

The University of Memphis Jazz Singers

The Green Room

The University of Memphis Jazz Singers is comprised of 10 to 15 male and female vocal students. This group performs a wide range of music from traditional arrangements of jazz standards to more contemporary fusion jazz.

Gareth Pearson is referred to as “The Welsh Tornado” which is particularly appropriate, seeing as this special talent combines fingerstyle pyrotechnics, with explosive lead runs making Pearson one of the most exciting acoustic musicians gigging today.

The two artists formed My Sister, My Brother, not because they’d planned to, but because they had to. They first sat down to write during a songwriting retreat. They emerged with “Nothing Without You,” a stunner with its heart on its sleeve.

Valerie And Her Week of Wonders

A girl on the verge of womanhood finds herself in a sensual fantasyland of vampires, witchcraft, and other threats in this eerie and mystical movie daydream. Valerie and Her Week of Wonders serves up an endlessly looping, nonlinear fairy tale, set in a quasi-medieval landscape.

RoSaWay

Vocal, flute, drums, & machines — that’s ROSAWAY: a pop-jazz band hailing from Paris. Distinctly French, somewhat theme-tune-style, and a whole lot of groovy, this duo is a blend of past and present.

Chico Pinheiro with the Ted Ludwig Trio

An exceptional guitarist with a beautiful sound and great fluidity, a unique composer that blends Brazilian music, classical music, and jazz, Chico's been nominated twice for the American Grammy Awards (in 2019 & 2020).

MicroCinema: Shifting Lines – New Queer Animation

Indie Memphis and Crosstown Arts are honored to present Shifting Lines: New Queer Animation from Frameline Distribution. These six shorts traverse various styles of distinctive animation and live-action to explore relationships, family, and the development of identity in ways that are as thoughtful as they are stunning to watch.
