Reed Turchi is a self-taught slide guitarist from Swannanoa, North Carolina who learned to play slide guitar in North Mississippi from RL Burnside’s longtime sideman Kenny Brown.

Hailed as “beyond genre constraints” by The Oxford American, Turchi’s cosmic-kudzu music is rooted in sounds from RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough to JJ Cale & Tinariwen. Joining Turchi, and filling out the “kudzu quartet,” is Eric Burns (guitar), Joseph Yount (drums) and Seth Barden (bass).

For this special album release show they’ll also be joined by Memphis’s own ART EDMAISTON (sax) from who has toured with Gregg Allman, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Little Feat, JJ Grey & Mofro and many more.

In addition to performing songs from WORLD ON FIRE, the ensemble will perform a number of experimental, improvised pieces.
