Love Under the Atrium Lights: Frank and Savannah’s Magical Proposal at Crosstown Concourse

Love is in the air at Crosstown Concourse! As part of our “Love All Series,” we’re thrilled to celebrate the many forms of love that blossom within our walls – from romantic proposals and deep friendships to self-love and family bonds. One of the most heartwarming stories we’ve encountered recently is the proposal of Frank Fitzgerald and Savannah Sentelle, a couple whose love story found its latest chapter under the iconic atrium lights.

Frank Fitzgerald and Savannah Sentelle’s journey began in June 2021 at their local church. Their connection first sparked online when Frank noticed Savannah on the church’s Instagram page. A couple of weeks later, as Savannah left a Sunday service, she spotted Frank and recognized him. With a cheerful “Hey! You follow me on Instagram!” she introduced herself, marking the start of their story.

Fast forward to their one-year anniversary, and Frank knew he wanted to make the day unforgettable. Originally, he planned to propose elsewhere, but when rain altered his plans, Crosstown Concourse became the perfect backdrop for this special moment. Reflecting on the experience, Frank said, “Looking back, I’m glad the proposal ended up being at the Crosstown Concourse because we hold many memories there, and it’s meaningful to both of us.”

The evening began with a celebratory dinner. Frank had already orchestrated the next steps of his plan with a little help from their friends. To get Savannah to Crosstown, Frank told her he had accidentally locked his keys inside their house and needed to meet his roommate at Crosstown to retrieve a spare. “While we were at dinner, I had a couple of people help me pull off the proposal,” he said. Their friend Melody and photographer Rachel prepared a heart-shaped arrangement of rose petals inside the atrium, setting the stage for a magical moment.

When the couple arrived at Crosstown, Frank asked Savannah to wait in the car while he went inside to “get the keys.” He stepped into the heart of rose petals and called Savannah, convincing her to come in by saying his roommate had things they needed to take back to the house. Despite the rain pouring outside, Savannah grabbed an umbrella and headed inside.

“When she walked in, she saw me standing in the middle of the roses,” Frank said. “She walked over to me crying, and we embraced each other. I read a letter expressing my love and ended with, ‘I was wondering if you will…’ closed the letter, ‘marry me,’ and got on my knee.” As bystanders clapped and cheered, Savannah said yes, sealing the moment.

Crosstown Concourse has been a meaningful place for the couple, filled with cherished memories. “We love the seventh floor for study dates, the couch near Sweet Magnolia Gelato for deep conversations, and the Art Bar for date nights,” Frank said. “Now, more than ever, we will always remember it as the place we got engaged.”

When asked what advice he’d offer to others planning proposals, Frank emphasized the importance of being adaptable. “Have a backup plan. Maybe your backup plan ends up being better than your original plan. Either way, you’ll love however it plays out because it will be YOUR story.”

Frank and Savannah’s story is just one of many that showcase the love and connection fostered at Crosstown Concourse. From first dates to heartfelt proposals, the Concourse is more than a space; it’s a backdrop for life’s most beautiful moments.
