The lights are flickering, the cobwebs are up, and something wicked is stirring in every corner of Crosstown Concourse. Halloween week brings horror films on the big screen, a trivia night for movie monsters, costume parties, and dance floors that stay packed until the witching hour. Here is your guide to the spookiest week of the year.
October 27 | 6:30 PM

Halloween week opens with a scream. Fright-tober rolls out a free horror screening at Crosstown Arts Theater, where the best part of any scary movie happens in the dark with a crowd gasping in unison. Leave the couch and the blanket fort behind and claim a seat in the theater.
Thursday, October 29 | 7 PM

Thursday gets a little spookier when the Crosstown Arts Film Series rolls out a cult horror favorite for Halloween week. Laughs and shrieks come in equal measure when a full theater watches it together. $5 tickets at the door and parking validation included.
Saturday, October 31 | 7:30 PM

Two of Memphis’ favorite DJs, Digital Tech and Qemist, take over The Green Room at Crosstown Arts for a night of eerie beats and deep grooves. Both spin as resident DJs on WYXR 91.7FM, and they bring that radio sound to a live room with a dance floor that will not sit still. Costumes are encouraged, and tricks and treats are expected.
Saturday, October 31 | 8:30 PM

Flip phones are back, and so is the soundtrack that came with them. Satellite Music Hall becomes a 2000s R&B and hip hop dance party, with Usher, Missy Elliott, Akon, and a stack of club anthems from the music video era. Dress up in 2000s fashion or put on your Halloween costume and take the whole night back in time.
Mon – Sat | 10 AM – 6 PM

The Mad Grocer’s Halloween table has grown into a cabinet of curiosities. Tarot cards, costume pieces, and vintage gas masks sit beside a few oddities best left unexplained. Odd treasures tend to vanish quickly, so early visitors get first pick.

A little mystery is waiting near Church Health all month long. Some books at the Book Vending Machine are ready to browse, cover and all, while others go the “blind date with a book” route, wrapped up so only a genre and a trope show. Peeling back the paper is half the fun, and nobody knows what story is hiding inside until it is in their hands.

Halloween costumes deserve a souvenir. The photobooth by French Truck Coffee is ready for creepy poses, silly faces, and entire groups of ghouls squeezed into one frame. Every strip holds a little piece of Crosstown Concourse to take home, and the booth is waiting any day a costume is on.
From the first trivia question on Tuesday to the last dance on Halloween night, Crosstown Concourse has a spot for every spooky season fan. Bring your favorite ghouls and make this the week everyone is still talking about long after the decorations come down.
