Director David Lynch and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, Robert Schenkan both created new works for her. Celebrated actors, producers, directors, writers, and cinematographers, who worked with her on stage, screen, and behind the camera, came together with her close family and friends at her deathbed, to help her play her most iconic part one last time.
David Lynch wrote Catherine’s final scenes hours before he directed her in the role he created for her. The Log Lady was conceived in 1973 on Eraserhead, born in 1990 in Twin Peaks, and is dying 25 years later in Twin Peaks: The Return, as Catherine knew she only had days to live. This documentary explores Catherine E. Coulson’s life and her role as Twin Peaks’ Log lady, featuring interviews and archival footage that reveal her artistic journey and the character’s cultural influence. Directed by Richard Green.
